The Special NIA Court in Delhi Tuesday issued non-bailable warrants against alleged founders of banned terror outfit Indian Mujahideen,Riyaz and Iqbal Bhatkal, and eight others named in the FIR registered by the NIA in September 2012 for larger conspiracy to conduct terror strikes across the country, including the recent Hyderabad blasts.
It also issued production warrant against IM suspect Obaid ur Rehman after the agency filed an application saying he needs to be questioned in connection with the Hyderabad blasts. Rehman is lodged in a Bangalore jail.
During closed in-chamber proceedings,District and Sessions Judge I S Mehta issued the NBWs against Pakistan-based Riyaz Bhatkal,Iqbal Bhatkal,Mohsim Chaudhary,Amir Reza Khan,Dr Shahnawaz Alam,Asadullah Akhtar,Ariz Khan,Mohd Khalid,Mirza Shadaab Beg and Mohd Sajid, all suspected IM operatives involved in the conspiracy. The agency had earlier told the court that many terror modules were involved in the conspiracy, which allegedly includes strikes such as the 2010 Delhi Jama Masjid attempted blast,2012 Pune blasts and the Chinnaswamy stadium blast in Bangalore.
The NIA alleged the Hyderabad blasts were carried out on orders of Riyaz Bhatkal.
