Murli Sharma makes his Tamil debut with Dhoni this month. The Tamil and Telugu bilingual, directed by actor Prakash Raj,releases on February 10. Sharma plays Ghanibhai,an evil moneylender from whom the hero keeps borrowing money. He undergoes a change of heart when he realises the actual problem of the hero. Sharma, who likes to dub his own lines, will be seen in white kurtas and bright-coloured ganjees, jeans, canvas shoes and a taaveez around his neck. The actor recalls that for one scene in a tabela,he had to actually handle some cow- dung but did not mind doing it.
Later,February 17 sees the release of Mr Nokia,a Telugu film where Sharma plays Shahjahan Bismillah,a cruel and ruthless gangster who kidnaps people and whenever he is happy,he breaks into a song, especially Hindi songs. This makes him look even more wicked, says the actor. A good singer himself,Sharma has crooned all the numbers. The actor will be seen in polka-dotted shirts, trousers and loads of accessories. For a 10-day shooting spell,Sharma even had to grow a stubble.
Sharma, who is a known face in the Telugu circuit, having bagged the prestigious Nandi award for his performance in Athithi, has already done films like Kantri and Oosaravelli.
As far as Hindi movies are concerned,he is currently filming Oh My God with Akshay Kumar where he plays a politician, the Emraan Hashmi-starrer Raftaar and Lakshman Rekha. He will be seen as a Naxalite leader in Manish Manekpuris Aalaap,a pan-chewing inspector in My Friend Ganesha Part 4 and will be sharing screen space with Veena Malik in Zindagi 50-50. He plays a bady guy in Nitin Chandrakant Desais Ajintha.
