Moga resident murdered in Canada

Nayab Singh,a resident of Khosa Pandu village near Moga,was killed in Surrey,Canada,a few days ago,family sources said here on Thursday.

Nayab Singh,a resident of Khosa Pandu village near Moga,was killed in Surrey,Canada,a few days ago,family sources said here on Thursday. Nayab had been living in Canada for the last over ten years. The news of his death reached his village on Wednesday.

His uncle,Avtar Singh,said they did not know yet as to what was the motive behind the murder. “Some of our relatives settled in Canada told us that Nayab was stabbed in the stomach by unidentified assailants. He was rushed to hospital where he died.”

A divorcee,Nayab is survived by a minor son,who lives with his maternal grandparents in Punjab,according to Avtar.

“My only appeal to the Canadian government is to arrest the killers of my son. I have also requested them to send my son’s body for last rights,” said Jaswant Singh,father of the deceased.
