A high-level security review meeting was held by the Defence Ministry on Monday during which topics such as the ongoing ceasefire violations as well as militant activity in J&K were discussed.
The meet,that was held to review the security scenario,was led by Defence Minister A K Antony and was attended by three service chiefs as well as the National Security Advisor.
Sources said that the situation on the LoC and the International Border,that have witnessed a spate of prolonged ceasefire violations,was discussed at length. The situation on the Pakistan border has been grim over the past few months with increased incidents of ceasefire violations,which crossed 140 this year an eight year high. The matter was also discussed by the DGMOs of both the sides last week.
