Angry over the reported misbehaviour of a Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) inspector with the relative of a man caught in connection with a theft case, around 1,000 people on Thursday blocked the Delhi-Alwar road for two hours, set afire two state roadways buses,a police vehicle, and a police post. The incident took place at Adbar chowk at Nuh in Mewat district. The police had to fire in the air to disperse the violent mob.

Sources said a resident of Dhalawas village in Topkora block of Rajasthan was caught by police. Ismail,a relative, reached the CIA police station on Thursday to meet him. The inspector there reportedly misbehaved with him. Police, however, said Inspector Ratan Lal objected to Ismail’s talking to the accused without permission. The incident was reportedly given a communal colour with people saying the inspector pulled Ismail’s beard. Mewat SP Yoginder Nehra said,“The situation is under control and congestion on the road is easing out. The incident was given a different colour .”
