The Uttarakhand Police have registered a case against Munna Singh Chauhan, the BLP legislator from Vikasnagar, for allegedly abusing and threatening an assistant engineer of the Irrigation Department and later hitting him with a shoe. Chauhan has however denied these allegations.

Complainant Vijendra Kumar claimed he was attacked by Chauhan and his supporters when he had gone to attend a departmental meeting at Dak Pathar guesthouse on Thursday evening. He claimed the MLA abused him and hit him with a shoe.

Chauhan,on the other hand, says he did pull up the assistant engineer, but never assaulted or abused him. “I had been getting regular complaints pertaining to an irrigation project near Telwala… When I pulled him up again, his superintending engineer rushed to the spot and promised to look into the matter,” the MLA added.
