Mishap in Sector 8,two hurt

A day after a teenager was booked for allegedly killing two persons due to reckless driving,two women in a Hyundai Accent car hit a scooter in Sector 8 and injured its two occupants on Thursday evening.

A day after a teenager was booked for allegedly killing two persons due to reckless driving,two women in a Hyundai Accent car hit a scooter in Sector 8 and injured its two occupants on Thursday evening. One of the accused was reportedly identified as Kasaubh Chandra,daughter of Haryana cadre IAS officer R P Chandra,while the other is yet to be identified.

The injured are 22-year-old Chaya Sharma and 23-year-old Pallavi Naruala,residents of Sector 10 and 12,respectively. Both are students of Government College,Sector 11.

Interestingly,a police officer said the accused ferried the injured to GMSH-16 in their car,before fleeing the scene leaving their vehicle behind.

Investigating Officer Sub-Inspector Sohan Singh said the car bearing registration number HR-36D-0043 has been impounded. Insurance papers recovered from the car indicated that it belonged to R P Chandra.

Chaya told police that they were returning from college when the speeding car hit their scooter in Sector 8. Even as the police from Sector-3 police station reached the hospital,the victims did not lodge a complaint.

“We have registered a daily diary report. The victims refused to get a case registered,but we have impounded the car.” said an officer,adding that the victims were discharged from hospital.

Accident victim dies

Ambala: BTech third year student Ashish,who was seriously injured while boarding a Haryana Roadway bus from Dosarka bus stand on Wednesday,succumbed to his injuries at the MM Medical College hospital in Mullana on Thursday. Ashish was injured after he came under the rear tyre of the moving bus. He was son of a railway employee and was to board bus for Ambala Cantonment. The driver bus escaped after abandoning the vehicle. The Mullana Police have registered a case against him. ens
