Mentally unstable man released from Pak jail returns home

Bhanudas Karale,58,the mentally unstable man who was released from Pakistani Jail last week after spending about two years there,on Tuesday returned to his home in Wadgaon Gupta village near Ahmednagar. He was welcomed by villagers at a function.

Bhanudas had gone missing from a Pune hospital in January 2010 and had mysteriously landed in Pakistan. After a year,he had contacted his family back home. The mystery of his journey from Pune to Lahore continues even after his return. On Friday,he was released from Kot Lakhpat jail along with five other Indian prisoners.

LIC fraud: 3 CBI officials among 4 booked

The CBI has booked two former branch managers and another official of the Life Insurance Corporation of India in Raipur for alleged irregularities in the settlement of death claims worth Rs 1.14 crore.

It was alleged the two branch managers and a higher grade assistant of the LIC committed the fraud between 2008 and 2011.

A CBI official said that a case has been registered against the then branch managers,H K Gadpal and Anil Kumar,and the then higher grade assistant of LIC Divisional Office,Raipur,R K Netam,dealing official of Nagar Nigam at Bilaspur,Ashok Kumar,and another person,Vijay.
