Police held Aroop Brahmachari for launching a hate campaign against BTMC officials

Bodhgaya police Wednesday arrested a “religious activist” for sending threatening emails in abusive language to Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC) and top district officials including the Gaya district magistrate. The arrest is not linked to Bodhgaya serial blasts.

Police held Aroop Brahmachari for launching a hate campaign against BTMC officials and top Gaya officials,the SP,DIG and DM. Brahmachari,who has been fighting the temple committee and district administration for years,has been sending hate mails to authorities regarding temple management. An engineering dropout,Brahmachari settled in Bodhgaya and would often allege financial irregularities in BTMC.

Of late,he started using harsh language and faced arrest under the IT Act and IPC provisions. He has been sent to judicial custody.
