Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai will arrive in India on Sunday to meet India’s top political leadership. This will be the Afghanistan President’s first visit to India after the Mumbai terror attacks and his second in the last five months. Earlier this week,Karzai met Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari in Kabul.

On Monday,Karzai is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee to discuss with them the situation arising out of the Mumbai attacks.

The purpose of Karzai’s visit to India is to convey Afghanistan’s solidarity with India after the terror attacks. India is also expected to share with the Afghan President evidence regarding the involvement of Lashkar-e-Toiba and other Pakistan-based elements in the Mumbai attacks.
