Justice Nirmal Yadav of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, who has been in the centre of a controversy following the delivery of Rs 15 lakh in cash at the residence of another High Court judge,on Wednesday said there was no illegality in the Solan land purchase for which the CBI has reportedly sought sanction to prosecute her.

Flatly denying the allegations levelled by the CBI,Justice Yadav told The Indian Express: “I don’t know what the CBI is doing. The land has been registered as per rules. There is no illegality. At no point of time did I interfere with the registration of the land. How can the CBI register a case without any evidence”.

But reports said the CBI has approached the Government for registering a case against Yadav, who it claims played a key role in the purchase and registration of land in Solan.
