Jhajjar ambush may have been set up: Cops

The attack on the police van in Jhajjar district of Haryana is suspected to have been “set up” by one of the undertrials travelling in the vehicle. The man is suspected to have passed on vital inputs to the assailants

The attack on the police van in Jhajjar district of Haryana on Friday evening is suspected to have been “set up” by one of the undertrials travelling in the vehicle. The man is suspected to have passed on vital inputs to the assailants.

The police van was carrying five undertrials. While three of them died on the spot,another sustained four bullet injuries.

However,the fifth undertrial,Ranbir,a notorious criminal,was unharmed.

Sources said Anil Chhipi,one of the prime accused booked on Sunday on charges of plotting the attack,had got in touch with Ranbir in Bhondsi jail,Gurgaon,a few days ago.
