JD-U worker killed,former MLA named

A JD-U worker was beaten to death,allegedly by a former RJD MLA and his supporters,in Gaya,Tuesday night due to political rivalry.

A JD-U worker was beaten to death,allegedly by a former RJD MLA and his supporters,in Gaya,Tuesday night due to political rivalry. In another incident,a village panchayat head was killed in Ara,Bhojpur,Tuesday night. A former minister and JD-U leader is named as conspirator in the case.

In Gaya,JD-U worker Sumirath Yadav was beaten to death allegedly by former RJD MLA Rajendra Yadav. Gaya SP Akhtar Hussain said the former MLA and his supporters had been named in the case after preliminary investigation. No arrests have been made so far.

In a seperate incident Echari panchayat mukhia Vinod Kumar Singh was killed. Former minister and senior JD-U leader B S Khushwaha was named in the case along with two others. Ara has been put on alert as the slain mukhiya was also district president of Akhil Bhartiya Rashtravadi Kisan Sangathan. Ara observed bandh on Wednesday.

Meira Kumar meets Iranian counterpart

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira,Wednesday met Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Ardeshir Larijani,to boost parliamentary exchanges between the two countries. “The visit will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our two countries,” Kumar said,welcoming the delegates. The delegation led by Larijani includes senior Iranian legislators Mohammad Ashouri,Gholam Reza Taj-Gardoun,Behrouz Nemati,Fatemeh Alia,and Esfandiyar Ekhtiyari. The Lok Sabha Speaker highlighted the commonality of views between the two countries .
