It was 25 years ago that Jackie Shroff and Rajinikanth co-starred together. The film was Subhash Ghai’s Uttar Dakshin and their heroine was Madhuri Dixit. Now Jackie Shroff will be once again seen with Rajinikanth, this time in a Tamil film Kochadaiyaan. A period drama,it is directed by Rajinikanth’s second daughter Soundarya.

“I play a king in the film. I took it up because I liked the role that was offered to me by Soundarya. Though I have shot for most of my part in London recently, some more of the shooting is left that may take place in Chennai some time later,” said Jackie over the phone. About Rajinikanth,he said, “He is still the same guy, humble and down-to-earth. He still has a well-maintained physique and oozes the same charm and happiness towards people around him. It was great to get back with him again.”

Jackie said that Kochadaiyaan, which is a mix of animation and live action, will be a trendsetter. “This film will be a pioneer when it comes to animation films in India. Soundarya has literally immortalised me with this film.”

Also starring Deepika Padukone,R Sarathkumar and Vijayakumar, the film will be dubbed in Telugu,English,Hindi and Japanese too.
