The Indian Union Muslim League,the second biggest party in the Congress-led UDF government in Kerala,has once again raised its demand for another slot in the Cabinet to take its representation in the ministry to five.
The IUML raised the demand after result to Piravom bypoll was declared two weeks ago. The party wanted its legislator M Ali also sworn in as a minister along with bypoll winner Anoop Jacob.
After a Congress state executive committee meeting on Tuesday,party legislator T N Prathapan said the IUML demand could be considered if the party nominee in Union Cabinet E Ahamed resigned.
Congress chief Ramesh Chennithala said a final decision would be taken by the high command,and that Chandy would leave for Delhi on Wednesday.
