Former Union minister and Congress leader Shakil Ahmed Khan on Friday asked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to “call an immediate meeting of NDA-ruled states than blame UPA government” for the arrest of an alleged Indian Mujahideen operative from Bihar by the Karnataka Police. Khan, who visited Darbhanga’s Barh Samaila village — from where Kafeel Akhtar was arrested on Sunday — said: “I wonder why Nitish Kumar has been targeting Centre… Why cannot he file case against the Karnataka Police for unlawful arrest?”

Khan, who belongs to Madhubani, said Kumar should call a meeting of NDA-ruled states of Karnataka and Jharkhand and Bihar to address the issue. “I learnt that Kafeel was taken to Bangalore via Ranchi,” said Khan. Jharkhand Police, however, did not confirm Kafeel’s presence.
