With the $10 billion tender to purchase new fighters for the Air Force progressing to the next stage of flight evaluations,rumours and reports are doing the rounds. Given the high stakes involved the contract is the largest international military tender in the world right now each report sends jitters down the ranks of the six participating contenders. One such buzz was that one company had been knocked out of the contract. While one side insisted it was the Swedish Gripen,the other suspected it was French Rafale. It took a word from IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal F H Major to clear the air. He said all contenders had gone to the next stage,instantly soothing the worried companies.
