Anna Hazare, who is suffering from a bout of fever and chest congestion, will be hospitalised on Sunday, his doctor told The Sunday Express. Dr K H Sancheti examined Hazare on Saturday evening and advised the social activist to get hospitalised.
The chest congestion if ignored and left untreated can lead to pneumonia. Due to low food intake for last many days his immunity has also lowered increasing the risk of pneumonia. He is also complaining of acute back pain, the doctor said.
I have advised him to get hospitalised which he has agreed to. He would report at my hospital in Pune tomorrow morning, said Dr Sancheti. He added that Hazare will be hospitalised for at least 5 to 7 days.
Due to Hazares ill-health,his team has postponed the core committee meeting that was scheduled to take place here on January 2-3.
The Core Committee meeting has been postponed due to Annajis ill-health. Though the fever has subsided,he still has a cold. He wont be able to sit for the entire two-day meet. The new date of the meeting will be announced in four-five days, said Hazard personal assistant Suresh Pathare.
It would have been the core committees first meeting after Hazare called off his three-day fast on its second day along with the jail bharo agitation.
We had a discussion with Annaji regarding his health after which the decision to postpone the meet was taken. He is still feeling weak and has chest infection, core committee member Manish Sisodiya told The Sunday Express from New Delhi.
