Govt announces Rs 150 cr to promote industrialisation in J-K

Centre has earmarked Rs 150 cr for the coming fiscal to woo industries in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative,the Centre has earmarked Rs 150 crore for the coming fiscal to woo industries in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the budgetary proposals presented by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in Lok Sabha today,a sum of Rs 150 crore has been specifically allocated to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as Special Industry Initiative (SII) for Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said the amount is likely to be spent on various measures to encourage businessmen to invest in the state.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been stressing for generating employment opportunities for the youths of the state.
