Gold futures prices soften on global cues

Gold for delivery in June fell by Rs 30,or 0.10 per cent to Rs 29,200 per ten grams

Gold prices fell by Rs 30 to Rs 29,200 per ten grams in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions,taking weak global cues.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange,gold for delivery in June fell by Rs 30,or 0.10 per cent to Rs 29,200 per ten grams in business turnover of 3795 lots.

Similarly,the yellow metal for delivery in August traded lower by Rs 31,or 0.10 per cent to Rs 29,671 per ten grams in 136 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in gold futures to a weak global trend. Meanwhile,gold in New York fell to USD 25.70 to USD 1559.30 an ounce.
