A 19-year-old girl who had gone to deliver the tiffin to her relatives admitted in the Godhra Civil Hospital was allegedly raped inside the premises by the hospital sweeper. While the accused has been arrested by the police, the Civil Hospital authorities are yet to take any action against him.

According to Godhra police, the girl, who is married, had come to the hospital on Wednesday to deliver the tiffin to her relatives admitted there after they were injured in a brawl in Lasmaniya village of Godhra taluka.

“Around 2 am,Mahesh Ratilal Harijan, who is a sweeper in the hospital, saw the girl sleeping on the floor. With a piece of cloth,he shut her mouth and overpowered her before taking her inside the store room adjacent to ward 22 on the second floor. He threatened to kill the girl and raped her.
