Former RJD MP gets life term for murder

Krishna had defeated CM Nitish Kumar in the Lok Sabha election from erstwhile Barh constituency in 2004 polls.

A district court Wednesday awarded life sentence to former RJD MP Vijay Krishna and three others found guilty of killing JD(U) leader and transporter Satyendra Singh in Patna in 2009. The court of Additional District Judge Nand Kumar Shrivastava also imposed a penalty of Rs 30,000 on Krishna and

Rs 35,000 on his son Chanakya Singh. Krishna’s servant Gagan and bodyguard Umesh Singh were awarded a penalty of Rs 6,000 each. The court had found the four guilty on Monday and reserved its order for announcing quantum of punishment for today. All the four were present in the court when the verdict was announced.
