The Jharkhand High Court Monday dismissed RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s plea to transfer one of the fodder scam cases against him from the court of Special CBI Judge P K Singh. A second plea for summoning the vigilance officer who initiated the case was also dismissed.

Lalu’s petition alleged that the special CBI judge was his opponent’s kin. “The judge’s sister is married to P K Shahi’s younger brother,a minister in Nitish Kumar’s cabinet. The court said we were using delaying tactics,” said Prabhat Kumar,Lalu’s counsel.

The court of R R Prasad had reserved the order on June 28. The CBI judge had asked both the prosecution and the defence to wind up arguments so that a judgment can be delivered by July 15.
