As part of investigation into CPM rebel leader T P Chandrasekharans murder, the police on Sunday raided the house of former CPM legislator V K C Mammath Koya in Kozhikode.
Police sources said the raid was carried out based on intelligence inputs. Koya, who had represented Beypore constituency from 2001 to 2006,is a prominent businessman in Kerala.
CPM workers took out a protest march at Nallalam near Kozhikode where the raid was held. The CPM district secretariat,in a statement, criticised the raid.
Senior party leader and former minister Elamaram Kareem said the raid was held to belittle the public personalities. The raid was atrocious and politically motivated, said Kareem.
