Investigating agencies have requested the Forensic Science Laboratory in Gujarat to send the layered voice analysis equipment to conduct a lie detector test on Abdul Karim Tunda.

“He is making many claims and statements. We are not ready to believe what he is saying,” said a senior officer.

Besides a Pakistani and a Bangladeshi passport,Tunda reportedly has a national citizenship number issued by Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority — 42101-1814316-1.

The Delhi Police Special Cell has also sought a city court’s permission to conduct a DNA test to establish Tunda’s identity.

Of the contact numbers recovered from Tunda’s cellphone,30 are reportedly “active” in India. “He has live contacts here and was using them for various operations. He has only confessed about one operation in which he planned to carry out blasts during the Commonwealth Games, there could be more such operations,” said the officer.

Tunda was also a frequent visitor to Dhaka and is suspected to have many contacts there. “He has told us about his associates in Bangladesh,” said an officer.

Sources said Tunda has denied meeting Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal, one of the alleged key conspirators in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
