Cop-militant links in J&K: Case filed,probe begins

The police have launched an investigation and registered a formal complaint against three policemen,who have been detained for close links with militants.

The police have launched an investigation and registered a formal complaint against three policemen,who have been detained for close links with militants.

A police spokesman said on Saturday that during the course of investigation it surfaced that a constable was in touch with anti-national elements. “On investigation,it was revealed that two more constables of J&K Police were also involved in such activities. These three constables have been taken into custody and their conduct is being scrutinized,” he said.

Sources said top officials are trying to establish whether it is an isolated incident or a larger network is involved. Investigators have questioned some other policemen whose names surfaced.
