Cop could face action for travelling abroad

Patil was dismissed from force for not having informed top brass about his trip.

Senior police officers said wife of dismissed police inspector Pravin Patil,an officer with Mumbai Police Crime Branch,is likely to face departmental action for not having informed the top brass about her trip abroad. Patil was dismissed from the force for not having informed the top brass about his trip,which was allegedly sponsored by the wife of an arrested person.

Patil,who portrayed the role of an encounter specialist in the movie Ab Tak Chhappan had gone for the film shoot,allegedly without informing his superiors.

In 2006,Patil also went abroad with his family to Hong Kong and Bangkok. The trip was allegedly funded by the wife of a broker who was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police in a securities related scam.

Police said Patil’s wife is likely to face departmental action as even she had failed to inform her superiors about her trip abroad with her husband.
