The Congress on Wednesday dubbed BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi as the “most communal person” amidst attempts made by Gujarat CM’s party to project him in a different light to win over the Muslims.

“If he (Modi) is the most secular person, who is the most communal person?” said Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh. “He has divided NDA and is now trying to divide his party,” Singh said pointing to the bickering within the BJP and the exit of JD(U) from the NDA coalition.

The Congress also attacked its ally, the Samajwadi Party, accusing it of colluding with the BJP over the VHP’s ‘Chourasi Kosi Parikrama’. It also slammed SP’s handling of the Muzaffarnagar violence.
