Common cremation site for national leaders to come up

The Ministry of Urban Development has decided to integrate the cremation sites of former PM I K Gujral and former President R Venkatraman,with a common cremation site being constructed to hold the last rites of national leaders — presidents,vice-presidents,prime ministers — in the future. The construction work on the ‘Rashtriya Smriti’,which would come up on the banks of river Yamuna,is likely to be completed by October next year,a ministry official said. It would have a central court surrounded by a vast green area.
