Delhi Police recruitment scam kingpin arrested
The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested Indra Deep,a former constable,whose name had cropped up in a fake recruitment scam recently. As Newsline had reported,during investigation into an auto theft case,the Delhi Police found three men living inside its barracks in Malviya Nagar without any verification. The three had allegedly paid Indra Deep Rs 5.5 lakh each to enter the force and had been given belts and uniforms. “Indra Deep has all details of what has been going and since when. We suspect more people from the force are involved. He can give us vital leads,” said a senior police officer.

Women claim they are married,seek protection
Two women approached the Mayur Vihar police station in East Delhi on Wednesday seeking police protection,alleging they were being harassed by their families who objected to their staying together. The police have recorded their complaint and assured assistance. The women,both aged 22,claimed they got married on August 6 but returned to their homes. On August 14,they fled from their houses and went to a friend’s place after which the families registered missing person reports. “We have got married willfully but our parents are against it. We need protection,” they said in a written statement to the police.
