Chilli,jeera rise on stockists buying

Red chilli prices rose by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 6,700- 9,200 per quintal.

Red chilli and jeera prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today,on increased buying by stockists as well as exporters amid firming trend in futures trade.

Tight stocks position following poor supplies from producing belts also influenced the prices.

Red chilli prices rose by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 6,700- 9,200 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also strengthened by Rs 200 each to Rs 15,100-15,200 and Rs 18,200-18,700 per quintal.

Traders said increased buying by stockists driven by rising exporters demand,mainly pushed up chilli and jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
