C’garh gets SC notice on plea by daily

The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Chhattisgarh Government on a petition by Hindi daily Rajastha Patrika,accusing it of taking adverse measures,including withdrawal of advertisements,for publishing news items relating to scams and corruption in the state. The court sought responses from the government and some of its departments on a petition by Rajasthan Patrika,which brings out an edition from Raipur. It has claimed that the government machinery was being abused against them for publishing news items.
