Vehicle bodies manufacturer Commercial Engineers and Body Builders Company (CEBBCO) on Saturday posted a whopping 613.58 per cent jump in the net profit for the quarter ended March 31 at Rs 13.13 crore as against Rs 1.84 crore in the year-ago period,mainly on the back of increase in sales.
The total turnover for the quarter stood at Rs 136.4 crore,up 114.36 per cent from Rs 63.63 crore in the corresponding period last year.
“The huge leap in the profits was mainly due to the exponential growth in sales as compared to the same quarter last year. Last year,the sales had impacted due to various reasons,but the business picked up very well in this fiscal resulting in huge growth in the bottomline,” a company official said.
For the fiscal year 2011-12,the company posted a 617 per cent growth in the net profit at Rs 40.8 crore and 116.22 per cent in total income at Rs 468.63 crore as against Rs 5.69 crore and Rs 216.73 crore,respectively,last year.
The EPS for the quarter ended rose to Rs 2.39 up by 528.95 per cent as compared to Rs 0.38 in the corresponding period in last year whereas for the year,it grew to Rs 7.43 up by 529.66 per cent as compared to Rs 1.18 in FY11.
