The Monsoon Session began on a stormy note in the Rajya Sabha with BSP members forcing adjournment of the House twice in the morning over desecration of B R Ambedkar’s statues and re-naming of parks and gardens named after him in UP.

As soon as the customary obituary references were over,BSP MPs went to the well of the House, forcing the first adjournment.

When the House met again,BSP chief Mayawati accused the SP government of deliberately changing the names of districts, parks, universities and welfare schemes named after Dalit icons, insulting them and upsetting their followers.

While she was speaking,AGP MPs trooped into the well of the House, demanding a discussion on the violence in Assam. BSP members too joined them, forcing another adjournment.
