Qaeda militants seize Yemen town
SANAA: Al-Qeada militants have seized a small town southeast of Yemens capital Sanaa Sunday. Witnesses said the militants met little resistance from police when they entered the town of Radda in al-Baydah province,170 km from Sanaa. Meanwhile,a Norwegian man working for the UN was kidnapped in Sanaa,Norways foreign ministry said.
Assad grants amnesty for crimes during uprising
BEIRUT: Syrias state news agency SANA said Sunday that President Bashar Assad has granted a general amnesty for crimes committed during the unrest of the past 10 months. The amnesty issued covers those who have peacefully demonstrated,those who have carried unlicensed weapons and those who hand over their weapons to authorities before the end of January.
Another man arrested for Birmingham murders
London: Another man was arrested Sunday in connection with the twin murder of an Indian-origin man Avtar Singh Kolar and his English wife in Birmingham last week.
The police said the 41-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested in the early hours of Sunday. A 24-year-old man was arrested on Friday. Both are being questioned for the murder of the couple.
