Moscow: The Pussy Riot punk band took aim at President Vladimir Putin and how he runs Russia’s oil industry on Tuesday in its first video in almost a year. In the video — Like a Red Prison — posted on YouTube,four members of the band criticise the close relationship between Putin and the Russian Orthodox Church chanting: “Your president is like an ayatollah in Iran and your church is like in the United Arab Emirates.” reuters

Driverless cars to be tested in Britain

London: The first ever trial of self-driving cars on Britain’s busy roads will take place later this year. The Department of Transport in the UK granted permission for the trials on road in presence of traffic and a back up driver inside the car as a safety measure. Islamabad: Pakistan Tuesday said it was trying to verify media reports that the local Taliban has sent scores of militants to Syria to fight the security forces of embattled President Bashar al-Assad. “We have seen these reports in the media and the concerned authorities are verifying these claims by the militants,” Foreign Office spokesman Aizaz Chaudhry said. Hezbollah convoy targeted in Lebanon

BEIRUT: A roadside bomb struck an SUV carrying Hezbollah members near Lebanon’s border with Syria on Tuesday,wounding two people. Other vehicles in the convoy,which was crossing the border into Syria,escaped the blast and continued their journey. Lebanon’s National News Agency said the wounded were taken to a hospital. PTI
