IVF pioneer Robert Edwards dies at 87

LONDON: British Nobel laureate Robert Edwards,whose research in vitro fertilisation led to the first test tube baby in 1978,died Wednesday at age 87. In 2010,Edwards was awarded the Nobel prize in medicine or physiology for the development of IVF. The University of Cambridge said Edwards passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home outside Cambridge. AP
