Youth found dead,cops look for ex-councillor

CHENNAI: The police in Chennai are on the lookout for Manivannan,a PMK leader and former municipal councillor,after a man who married his daughter against his wish was found hacked to death on Wednesday night. The victim was identified as Bilal from Mylapore and his body was found near Buckingham Canal with injuries in the head and neck. The police rushed to the spot and sent the body for postmortem.

Lt Col’s wife found murdered

AMRITSAR: The wife of Lt Col Santosh M Wankhede,Vineeta (28),was found dead at the officer’s residence in high security Manekshaw Enclave on Amritsar-Ramtirath road on Thursday. The victim was strangulated to death with a room heater wire. The SIM card of Vineeta’s cellphone was missing.
