BANGALORE: A British national heading an international school has been arrested on charges of “inappropriate conversations” with a Class VII student,the police said. Parents of the boy said headmaster of Trio World School,Paul Francis Meekins,talked about sex with the boy and also chatted with him on the subject on a social networking site.

Orissa: Naxal camp destroyed

MALKANGIRI (Orissa): A Maoist camp was on Sunday destroyed,and several weapons and explosive devices were seized,during a joint combing operation by Special Operations Group and the police in Tekguda forests in Orissa’s Malkangiri district. Three electronic detonators,more than 200 metres of wire used for landmines,two country-made rifles and many live cartridges were seized from the spot,the police said.

Attack on Tamil Nadu fishermen,9 missing

Rameswaram: Nine fishermen from Rameswaram were missing and more than 200 boats damaged in an alleged attack by Sri Lankan Naval personnel at the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in Palk Strait RPT in Palk Strait,officials said on Sunday.This is the first attack on TN fishermen allegedly by Lankan navy after Foreign minister S M Krishna raised the issue in Colombo in his visit last week.

Army jawan kills wife,self

DEHRADUN: An army jawan committed suicide after allegedly killing his wife at a hotel here,police said on Sunday. The body of Chandra Prakash,22,of Kanpur was found hanging from a ceiling fan Saturday night in a hotel room where the body of his wife Nidhi,19,lay on the bed,they said. An identity card found from the pocket of Prakash established that he was an army jawan,who was on leave.
