HC junks bigamy charge against Kumaraswamy
BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Monday dismissed a writ petition,seeking a direction to the Speaker to disqualify JDS state president H D Kumaraswamy from Parliament for allegedly committing bigamy. A Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen dismissed the petition filed by city-based advocate Sashidhar Belagumba on the grounds of lack of proof. Belagumba had filed the petition in the High Court in 2011,charging Kumaraswamy with going in for a second marriage to Kannada actress Radhika.
Day-to-day hearing ordered in Dara case
JAIPUR: Days after pulling up the CBI for going all out to deliberately delay the trial in the Dara Singh fake encounter case,the Rajasthan High Court on Monday ordered its day-to-day hearing. Day-to-day hearing should be held as far as possible, a single bench of the court directed.
Swami Sanand may renew fast
ALLAHABAD: Swami Gyan Swaroop Sanand has threatened to renew his fast-unto-death if the central government did not stop work on at least four hydro-power projects going on in the Alaknanda valley of Uttarakhand. This has been set as a minimum condition for attending the meeting of the National Ganga River Basin Authority,which will be chaired by the Prime Minister on April 17.

Jhansi Dalit girl gangraped
ALLAHABAD: A 17-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gangraped by three men in a village in Jhansi district of Bundelkhand region late on Friday night. A case was registered two days after the girl made many rounds of the police station. The local police had initially registered a case of voluntarily causing hurt.
