Five injured as BSF helicopter crashes in Raipur
RAIPUR: A Border Security Force (BSF) helicopter crashed during a test-flight at the Mana airport here on Sunday injuring five persons,including the pilots,officials said. The advance light helicopter came crashing on the runway from a height of 100 feet during the test-flight,injuring the pilot,the co-pilot and three technical officers,SP Diptanshu Kabra said. The condition of one of them is stated to be critical.
Orissa confirms second bird flu case
BHUBANESWAR: The Animal Disease Laboratory of Bhopal confirmed the second bird flu death in Mayurbhanj districtss Betanoti block. The bird flu virus was detected in backyard poultry in Betanoti block of Bahanda village,said State Fisheries and Animal Resources secretary Satyabrata Sahu. On Sunday,Orissa government finished culling around 35,000 poultry birds in Keranga,where bird flu was detected last week.
Youth dies in cricket match brawl in Bihar
BEGUSARAI: A youth died after head injuries in Bihars Begusarai district after he was hit with a bat during a cricket match,the police said on Sunday. Avnish Kumar died at the private clinic of a homoeopathy doctor on Saturday night after Sushil Kumar hit him following a brawl between them during a cricket match,the police said. A case has been registered on the complaint of Kumars father Bhola Singh charging the accused with the murder of his son.
Shooter carrying reward held in MP
INDORE: A shooter carrying reward on his head was arrested by the Crime Branch here on Sunday along with a loaded country-made revolver in connection with an attempt-to-murder case,DSP (Crime),Jitendra Singh said. Acting on a tip-off,the police caught Mohan Singh Thakur alias Monu (20) from the Malwa Mill area,he said. He was evading arrest since the shooting incident at a local hotel in which the owner of the hotel was injured following which a case was registered against him. Bhopal Police had announced a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head,he added.
