No chargesheet against Bhaiya Raja,SHO suspended

Bhopal: Shahpura police SHO Dinesh Dwivedi was suspended on Saturday for failing to file chargesheet within the 90-day stipulated time after arresting former MLA Ashok Veer Vikram Singh alias Bhaiya Raja in connection with the suicide case of his domestic help Tigi Bai. Dwivedi was suspended as he failed to file the chargesheet in the court in time,SP (South) Yogesh Choudhary said. On June 25,Bhaiya Raja got bail in the case. Bai was found charred to death at his Kolar area house under mysterious circumstances in 2007. Raja was arrested on the charge of her wrong confinement,torture and abetting her to commit suicide.

Fisherman killed by tiger in Sunderban Reserve

Canning (WB): A fisherman was killed by a tiger while another tigress was captured after it strayed into the Sajnekhali office campus of Sunderban Tiger Reserve. About 10 fishermen had ventured from Basanti area into the Sunderban jungles ten days ago. They entered the Tiger Reserve’s Core Area when one of them Dilip Baidya was attacked by a tiger on Saturday. The tiger was chased away by other fishermen but Baidya succumbed to his injuries. In a separate incident,a tigress entered the Sajnekhali Tiger campus on Saturday evening. The animal was again spotted on Sunday on the campus. The tigress was later tranquilised and then put in a cage.

Four killed as car falls into gorge in Uttarakhand

Gopeshwar: Four persons were killed when a car in which they were travelling fell into a gorge at Mahalchori area of Chamoli district,the police said on Sunday. The incident took place late on Saturday when the driver lost control over the vehicle. The deceased have been identified as Naib Tehsildar of Gairsain Tehsil Rooplal (56),Pasi Ram (50),advocate Bahadur Singh Kandari (52) and driver Kishan Singh (40). Senior administrative and police officials rushed to the spot and Chamoli DM Neeraj Semwal has ordered a probe.

Girl falls to death,honour killing suspected

Muzaffarnagar (UP): A 21-year-old girl on Saturday has died after falling down from the terrace of her house at a village here,but people alleged that it was a case of honour killing. Afsana Begum,a resident of Jolly village,died on the spot. People alleged that she was killed by her family after they found her with her “lover”. However,the family claimed that she accidentally fell down,the police said adding,investigations are on. They said the girl was buried by the family without informing the police.
