After demonstrating its capability as a precision-attack missile, the Brahmos validated its deep penetration ability by successfully piercing a concrete structure at the Pokhran test range on Monday morning.
The Block III variant of the Brahmos was test-launched by the Army from a Mobile Autonomous Launcher deployed with a Mobile Command Post and hit its target with precision, penetrating the structure.
The launch has successfully validated the deep penetration capability of the supersonic cruise missile system against hardened targets, a Brahmos official said.
The test-launch was witnessed by several top Army officials, including Corps Commander Lt Gen Amit Sharma.
The Block III variant of the land-attack missile has in the past demonstrated its capabilities in mountain operations by achieving a supersonic steep dive with precision strike.
