State-run BHEL today reported a 8 per cent drop in net profit to Rs 6,485 crore in the financial year 2012-13.
The company had a net profit of Rs 7,040 crore in the 2011-12,BHEL said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges.
BHEL’s turnover increased to Rs 50,015 crore during 2012-13 from Rs 49,510 crore in the previous fiscal.
The company’s order inflow rose to Rs 31,528 crore in the year ended March 31,2013 from Rs 22,096 crore in the previous fiscal,translating into a jump of 42 per cent.
Shares of BHEL were trading at Rs 182.75 apiece on the BSE,up 2.84 per cent from the previous close.
