Arunachal school warden held for ‘raping’ 14 minors

The warden of the girls’ hostel of a private school in Likabali in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh has been arrested on charges of raping 14 girls

The warden of the girls’ hostel of a private school in Likabali in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh has been arrested on charges of raping 14 girls between the ages of 4 and 13 over the last three years.

The accused,Vipin Wisvan,is also alleged to have molested several other children.

Residents alleged that the school principal had tried to hush up the matter after a few girls complained on Tuesday morning. Three of the girls then reportedly scaled the wall of the school and went to the police.

Although preliminary medical examination did not find any signs of rape in the case of 12 of the 14 girls,all the girls were being taken to Itanagar for medical examination,West Siang deputy commissioner Manoj Kumar Sahoo said.

The school has over 400 students from nursery to Class VII.
