LIC would soon have ‘any time any where’ facility,by which customers can pay or access its services from any where in the country,at any given time,a top official said today.
Under the Enterprise Document Management Scheme,98 per cent of 34 crore policies were scanned and entered into data base and once the current policies found place in the scheme,LIC would step into any time any where facility,J Chakrapani,Senior Divisional Manager,Coimbatore Division,told reporters.
He was speaking after launching LIC’s new product,’Jeevan Vaibhav,’ a single premium non-linked insurance plan and said in tune with the declining national trend,13 lakh policies lower in 2010-11 compared to previous fiscal,the division also witnessed a decline of over 40 per cent in the business.
However,the division with Rs 55 crore Bankassurance business,stood second after Chennai,in all the 112 divisions in the country,he said.
Coimbatore division settled 1.47 lakh claims,including 7,200 death claims and a few lapsed policies,totally worth Rs 403 crore during the last fiscal,he said.
