The Broadcasting Content Complaints Council Friday said that several film award shows telecast on TV contained double meaning jokes and adult humour and told the channels concerned to screen them only after 11 pm.

Entertainment channels that feature reality shows depicting scenes like live insects being eaten and animals being abused as an act of courage have also been asked by the Council,a self-regulatory body,to stop airing such programmes.

Noting that several TV programmes were exploiting animals, birds and insects for the sake of entertainment, the council asked entertainment channels not to air content that creates wrong impression among the viewers.
