Veteran Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) leader and two-time minister Atul Bora on Tuesday resigned from the regional party and announced his decision to join the BJP.

Bora,a three-time MLA from Dispur, said that he would join the BJP in the presence of its national president Rajnath Singh who is arriving here on Wednesday. “I am disgusted with the internal problems, including the lack of democratic norms in the AGP. There is no scope left to put the AGP house in order. Given the situation,my well-wishers have been pressing me to quit and join the BJP,” Bora said.
