Afghanistan’s parliament building,which is being constructed by Central Public Works Department,is likely to be completed by December 2013,according Rakesh Mishra,Special DG,CPWD.

“Its design is based on the religious philosophy of the Afghan people. There are four sections — the lower house,the upper house,administrative section and an entrance block. There will be very high domes covered with copper sheets. This will be a landmark structure,” Mishra said.

He said the cost of the building was estimated to be around Rs 700 crore and work of about Rs 400 crore was completed.
