The Bombay HC Thursday said it would hear an application seeking the inclusion of Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde as an accused in the Adarsh housing society scam, after the CBI completes its probe into the alleged benami transactions made while purchasing flats in the Colaba highrise.

Activist Pravin Wategaonkar had alleged that Shinde had a “personal interest” in making Major N W Khankhoje a member of the society in Colaba. Wategaonkar had pointed this out from the deposition of former MLC Kanhaiyalal Gidwani before a probe panel on September 25,2012,in which he had said Shinde had suggested Khankhoje’s name for membership of the Society and asked Gidwani to accommodate him.

“CBI should be asked to look into the relations between the Khankhoje family and Shinde,” Wategaonkar told the court, adding that the Enforcement Directorate should also be directed to follow the trail of monetary transactions in the case.
